A legally binding contract between you and Sellyourgadget.co.uk is formed upon our receipt of your sell order. This contract will incorporate these Terms and Conditions and our Terms of Use. Further information can be found on the “How It Works” page of our site.

You must hold full ownership, rights, and title to any device (including, but not limited to, smartphones, tablets, smartwatches, gaming consoles, and laptops) that you send to us.

Ownership of the device(s) will transfer to us once we have received the items and issued payment to you, at which point the contract becomes binding.

This contract is legally binding on you, us, and any of our respective successors or assigns. You are not permitted to transfer, assign, charge, or otherwise dispose of this contract or any associated rights or obligations without our prior written consent.

We reserve the right to transfer, assign, charge, subcontract, or otherwise dispose of this contract, or any associated rights or obligations, at any time throughout the duration of the agreement.


You may cancel this contract at any time prior to sending us your device(s), during what is known as the “cooling-off period.” This period applies only if:

  • The contract was completed solely through means of distance communication (e.g., via our website, telephone, or email); and
  • You are a consumer acting outside the scope of any business or commercial activity.

If the above conditions are met, you may cancel the contract during the cooling-off period without providing a reason and without incurring any administrative charges. Cancellation must be communicated to us in writing.

Once you send your device(s) to us, the cooling-off period ends, and cancellation is no longer permitted unless the device fails to meet the criteria specified in the Terms and Conditions below.


By submitting an order through our website, you confirm and warrant that:

  • You are a resident of Great Britain or Northern Ireland;
  • You are accessing our website from within these territories;
  • You are legally capable of entering into a binding contract; and
  • You are at least 18 years old, or you have obtained the consent of a parent or legal guardian to sell your device(s) to us.

If you are under 18 and do not have parental consent, you and your parents or guardians release us from all liability resulting from any breach of this warranty.


If you are acting as a consumer (i.e., outside the scope of a business), certain provisions of this contract may not apply to you. Nothing in this contract affects your statutory consumer rights.

If you are selling on behalf of a business, you must warrant that you are authorised to do so and that the business is located in Great Britain or Northern Ireland.


Each device submitted to us for sale (including phones, tablets, laptops, consoles, and smartwatches) must meet the following condition guidelines:

Mobile Phones

  • Excellent Condition: Minor scratches (up to 3 on the screen, up to 5 on the housing), no cracks or dents, fully functional, no liquid damage, battery health of at least 80%, and battery cycle count below 500.
  • Good Condition: More than 3 light scratches, minor dents or scuffs, no cracks, fully functional, no liquid damage & battery cycle count below 500.
  • Faulty Condition: Cracked screen, non-functional buttons, liquid damage, or operational defects.

Tablets

  • Excellent Condition: Fully functional, light signs of use, no cracks or damage, battery health at least 80%.
  • Good Condition: Heavier signs of use, no cracks or deep scratches, battery health at least 80%.
  • Faulty Condition: Screen/display faults, liquid damage, non-functional buttons or ports.

Laptops and MacBooks

  • Excellent Condition: No cosmetic or internal damage, fully operational, perfect screen, battery health at least 80%.
  • Good Condition: Minor scratches or scuffs, fully working, no liquid damage.
  • Faulty Condition: Charging or display issues, internal hardware faults.

Gaming Consoles and Accessories

  • Excellent Condition: Fully functional, no cosmetic damage, includes all original accessories.
  • Good Condition: Visible signs of use, fully operational, minor scratches or dents.
  • Faulty Condition: Boot failures, faulty ports/displays, missing parts.

Smartwatches

  • Excellent Condition: Fully functional, no physical or liquid damage, battery health at least 80%.
  • Good Condition: Signs of use, missing/damaged accessories, battery health at least 80%.
  • Faulty Condition: Functional issues, physical damage (e.g., cracked screen), liquid exposure.

By sending your device to us, you acknowledge and agree that Sellyourgadget.co.uk is not responsible for the device’s contents, including any personal data, files, or media. It is your sole responsibility to ensure that all data is erased before the device is dispatched.

We strongly recommend performing a factory reset and deleting all personal content prior to sending your device.

We will not be liable for the loss of any data or for any consequences arising from data that remains on a device.


If we assess your device and determine it does not match the condition initially selected in your order, we will contact you with a revised offer.

If you do not respond to the revised offer within 14 days, payment will be made based on the adjusted value we have provided.

We reserve the exclusive right to determine the final valuation of any device. If you do not accept our adjusted offer, your device will be returned.

By submitting an order, you confirm that your device complies with the condition guidelines described above.


If your device is functional, we advise that you remove all personal data prior to sending it. You can use our Mobile Data Delete Tool for guidance on data removal.

For non-functional devices with features like “remote wipe,” we suggest attempting a wipe before dispatch.

If your non-functional device has a PIN or security lock, this may restrict access and require factory resetting for repair purposes, potentially deleting all stored data.

Important: If a non-functional device with unrecoverable data is sent to us, it may still be accessible during the repair process.


Please ensure any airtime contracts linked to your device are cancelled prior to dispatch.

You must remove your SIM card before sending the device to us. We are not liable for any charges incurred as a result of a SIM card being left in a device, and we are unable to return SIM cards.


Selling a device you do not own may constitute a criminal offence.

We verify all IMEI/serial numbers using CheckMEND to confirm devices are not lost, stolen, or blocked.

If a device is flagged, we will notify you and quarantine the device for 28 days. During this period, you must provide proof of ownership or remove the block from the CheckMEND database.

If the issue is not resolved within 28 days, the device will be reported to the relevant authorities or responsibly disposed of.


Prices on our website may change at any time without prior notice.

Once you place an order, the quoted price is guaranteed for 14 days. If your device is received after this period, the current site price will apply.


We offer various shipping options, including Royal Mail and free postage bags.

Please ensure devices are securely packaged to avoid damage or loss during transit. For high-value items, we recommend using tracked delivery services.


You can choose to receive payment via:

  • Bank Transfer
  • Cheque

Payments are processed on the same working day (Monday to Friday) after your device passes inspection and is approved. You cannot change your selected payment method after placing an order.


We do not provide payment for devices flagged as lost or stolen in the CheckMEND database.

Flagged devices will be quarantined for 28 days. During this time, you must provide valid proof of ownership for payment to be issued.


If your device has an activation lock (e.g., iCloud or Google FRP), we will notify you and provide instructions to remove it.

Devices that remain locked will be held for up to 42 days. If not unlocked within this period, they will be recycled responsibly.


We do not pay for counterfeit or replica devices.

We may return these to you at your own expense or dispose of them appropriately.
